TO-DO-LIST FOR AN ATTRACTIVE PERSONALITY

TO-DO-LIST FOR AN ATTRACTIVE PERSONALITY

Featured image

Who would love to hate a person with an attractive personality? Do you want to possess an attractive personality also? I guess the answer in all certainty will be a BIG YES, isn’t it? After all there are many benefits associated with possessing an attractive personality.

So, today in this blog post, I have thoughtfully compiled a to-do list for everyone who wants to groom themselves and be the proud owner of an attractive personality, that will be the object of envy of everyone. So, are you ready? Then, let’s go:-

  1. First of all, like everything else, here also we need to start from the basic. And that basic is your personal hygiene. Yes, maintaining a proper personal hygiene is a must if you want to possess a good personality. There is no point in wearing expensive clothes and interacting in sophisticated accent, if you do not maintain a certain level of personal hygiene.
  2. Clothes, shoes and accessories play a major role in putting up your whole look and at the same time it complements your natural look. So, pick up clothes according to your office environment and at the same time, make sure that you are comfortable in those clothes. It is always wiser if you choose clothes according to your work. If you work in the corporate sector, then it’s always better that you go for formal, sharp dressing. If in such a work environment, if you wear some relaxed casual dresses, then it would totally look out of the place.
  3. A person with an attractive personality should know how to put his words, in other words, he/she should possess excellent conversation skills without going overboard at any particular point of time. So, if you are an introvert person, try to open up. Try socializing with your friends and families, watch talk shows, you can even join clubs, where you will find ample opportunities to interact with like minded people.
  4. On the other hand if you are an extrovert person and at times you go overboard, then you should try to tone down a bit. The point here is that you should be talking like a gentleman or a lady. The tone at which you talk should be calm yet to the point. You need not shout every time to prove your point. If you have the facts, then your point will be proven anyways.
  5. Try to develop the habit of listening. A person with an attractive personality is usually a good listener too. For a good conversation to take place there should be a two-way communication. So, be a patient listener and in return, when your turn comes to speak you will be rewarded with a good audience.
  6. Try to groom yourself properly. Little things go a long way in developing an attractive personality. For instance get a good hair cut, if you are a bit overweight then think of joining the gym and losing some weight. If you feel too lazy to commit yourself to the gym routine, then go for jogging or do morning walks regularly.
  7. Keep yourself updated about the latest happenings.
  8. Do not kill time uselessly. Put it into some good use. Read some books or if you have a lot of spare time, think of learning something new or better take up a hobby.
  9. It is always better to learn table manners to save yourself from any unnecessary embarrassment in social gathering.
  10. The most important of all, follow a routine and be disciplined. Otherwise all your efforts of possessing an attractive personality will go vain.

Hope this article helps you.

MID WAY MOTIVATION

MID WAY MOTIVATION

Featured image

Pursuing our dreams needs a lot of courage and motivation on the part of each one of us, isn’t it? There would be rarely a person who will say that he/she has pursued his/her dreams with zero fears and doubts. Fears and doubts are kind of inherent in every one. The one who successfully surpasses the fears and doubts eventually emerges as a winner. And for that we need to motivate ourselves constantly.

However, motivation or motivating ourselves is not a onetime affair.  It’s not like we need to motivate ourselves only before pursuing our dreams and aspirations and after that putting a full stop on it. It’s not like that. In order to be successful,  motivation is an inseparable element. The continuous presence of this element throughout our journey to our goals will only ensure cent percent success.

Many people, who started out armed with all the knowledge and determination to accomplish their goals, give up even before the reaching the finishing line. And on the other hand there are people who reach the finishing line also and at the same time accomplish their goals and aspirations.

So what is the difference between these two set of people?? Simple it’s all about the MID WAY MOTIVATION.

See whenever we gear up to pursue our dreams, anything like starting our own venture, finding a new job, learning a new talent etc., we motivate ourselves to pursue it. And after motivating and preparing ourselves we start engaging ourselves towards fulfilling our dreams. But our dreams and goals cannot be achieved within a fraction of seconds neither it is a matter of a few minutes. We clearly do not know how much time it will take. It may take days, months or even years. The one thing we only know when it comes to our goals and dreams is that it is uncertain. Many of us in the initial period is full of determination and enthusiasm. But with time the enthusiasm will fade a bit, and our determination might also take a back seat at that point. And this situation is the root cause because of which many people give up on their dreams and goals even before reaching the finishing line. The uncertainty associated with the time frame needed to accomplish the dreams and goals prompts many of us to give up. After all who likes uncertainty.

But the intelligent lot will not give up. Because they know if they are consistent in their efforts and persist for some time they will definitely achieve their goals. But, there is more depth to the secret of their success. The secret is as I mentioned already is all about MID WAY MOTIVATION.

So what is mid way motivation? Simple, mid way motivation is basically motivating and refueling yourself with renewed vigor and enthusiasm mid way to our goals/ aspirations.

So, how will you know that it is MID WAY? It’s simple, anytime when you will feel that your enthusiasm is dropping and that boredom and monotony is creeping in your way, that’s the situation when you should prepare yourself for some mid way motivation.

When you start feeling that you are lacking enthusiasm or if you are thinking of giving up, then at that point of time, stop your work, take a break for a few days. Better if you could arrange for some refreshing vacation. It is always better to not take such a decision in haste. Better take a break and think with a cool head about everything related to your dream or goal. Like for instance why you thought of pursuing your goal? In what many ways can it benefit you and your life? Why you are thinking of giving up on your goal /aim? What if you could persist for a little longer and see the results? see, it’s always better to reconsider everything carefully before giving up.

Not many get an opportunity to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. If you are getting an opportunity hold on to it. don’t give up.

It’s either silk/satin for me. What’s for you??

It’s either silk/satin for me. What’s for you??

It’s either silk or satin for me. What’s for you?

I may not be a crowned beauty queen

I may not possess a tiara

But

I have my crowning jewelry, my hair.

Featured image

We all ladies out there absolutely love and adore our hair isn’t it. So much that a single thought of a bad hair day gives us enough creepy thoughts to drive us crazy. We almost follow every single ritual right from grandma’s secret remedy for gorgeous hair to getting a fabulous hair spa done at the very popular hair salon or getting an exclusive appointment with the most renowned trichologist in town( a trichologist is a person who specializes in hair treatment, just like a dermatologist), who has all the solutions for all our hair woes. But, think again are you doing everything? Most of us might be doing, but at the same time most of us might not be doing also.

We all know the importance of good night sleep. A good night’s sleep will help us to get the maximum beauty benefit. To know more about beauty sleep, see here. Okay, so coming back to beauty sleep, while we sleep, we also give our hair the desired rest. But, if you are sleeping on cotton pillow then you are depriving yourself of making the maximum benefits of your beauty sleep, on the other hand you could be inviting more damage for your hair and skin both. Tensed, are you freaking out? Don’t, I have solutions right here with me. The solution is simple, throw away that cotton pillow cases and it’s about time you embrace the satin/silk pillow cases with much love, because they will return your love for choosing them by giving you gorgeous hair and skin.

Do you need reasons for choosing silk/satin pillow cases over the cotton ones? Here, I offer to you some valid reasons. Are you ready, come on let’s go.

Reason No. 1

It’s good for your hair and skin both.

Reason No 2

Reduces hair breakage and damage to a great extent, because of less friction involved while sleeping on silk/satin pillow cases. Your hair gets the soft and smooth fabric as a companion to hang around with all night. And while you get your beauty sleep, they are also pampered.

Reason No. 3

If you want to have hair that has got the look of silk, then it’s time you start treating it like silk. And what better way to start than by switching over to silk/satin pillow cases.

Reason No. 4

Added advantage, it’s good for you skin also. Silk fibers help to keep moisture close to skin, leaving your face better hydrated than cotton pillows which tend to suck the moisture away. The result of sleeping on a silk pillow is hydrated skin, which means less chance of fine lines and wrinkles.

So, I guess those are enough reasons to throw away that cotton pillow cases and indulge in some sheer luxury of silk/satin and you won’t regret and your hair and skin will thank you for that.

Sitting disease: cure it before it’s too late

Sitting disease: cure it before it’s too late

sitting is the new smoking.

Featured image

Are you a couch potato? If not thank yourself, you are just immune to sitting disease. But on the other hand if you are a couch potato, beware; you might just make yourself sick with sitting disease. A lot of you might be thinking what the hell is this sitting disease??  And what is she blabbering about??. But, mind people I am just talking some serious stuff.

Sitting disease is not a disease actually, but it is a habit that could eventually be the stepping stone to many diseases. It refers to the state of not being active enough and leading a sedentary lifestyle. Sitting has actually become the new smoking.

We all know that smoking is injurious to health. But, do you even know how harmful sitting or leading a sedentary lifestyle is? With economies being progressing day after day and the standard of living of people just rising day after day, it’s quite obvious that we rely on gadgets and electronics to do most of the work for us. This kind of inactivity can be the root cause of most disease like cardiovascular diseases, obesity, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, diabetes, colon cancer etc. Shocked?? Yes it’s true. So I guess it’s just the perfect time to jump out of that couch you have been hugging all day long.

A lot of you might argue that almost about half of the day I stay at work, where all I have to do is sit in front of the computer, so where do I get the chance to be actively walking. I agree with you, but, by incorporating little changes in your office time, you can actually be active, for instance take the stairs instead of the lift, during lunch hour break, don’t just sit in your comfy cabin and eat up your lunch, instead go to the cafeteria and snack down, take excuse to pee and go to a bathroom that is a bit far so you can increase your walking time.

These little changes can actually make a lot of difference in the end. If you are a homemaker or work from your home, you definitely enjoy more liberty than the office goers and you can deliberately attempt to be more active. Doing household chores is a good option, play with your pets, feed them, play the music and just groove; dancing amounts to both exercising and fun or you can take up an outdoor hobby like gardening, nature photography etc. There are plenty of other options, for example in your kitchen, make a high-rise table where you can have your food without sitting or you can do other kitchen chores like cutting and peeling. It’s all about getting creative and active at the same time. It is a choice to lead a healthy life, which the sooner you make the better it is for you.

As people starts earning more and more, their lifestyle become more and more sedentary and it’s only a matter of time before they fall prey to the hands of sitting disease. So, be active. Add more physical activities in your daily schedule and also make a daily habit of exercising. If you are not a morning person, make it a point to exercise in the evenings, but do exercise. You can jazz up your exercise routine by trying different activities like dancing, swimming, yoga, skipping etc. Basically, do something that excites you.

Exercising and physical activity in your daily regime is a must not only to be disease free but also to age gracefully. By being physically active and exercising every day, you provide your body and mind to lead a healthy and a stress free life. So, don’t wait to die old and haggard instead switch over to exercising and embrace old age gracefully.

I’m a dreamer but not a procrastinator.

I’m a dreamer but not a procrastinator.

Who are you?

Are you a dreamer?

Are you a procrastinator?

Or

Are you a dreamer and a procrastinator both?

concept-dream-dreamer-photography-poetry-quote-Favim.com-40984

Is it bad to be a dreamer?? Tell me. You know what according to my point of view; it is actually not bad to be a dreamer. Persons who are dreamers are the one who become achievers later. It’s a talent actually to envision great things.

And I’m a firm believer of the fact that people can achieve whatever they envision. You know what our mind has this great talent of envisioning spectacular things, that we can actually try to accomplish, to be successful and happier in our respective lives. But, we don’t take our mind seriously and just like any other stupid random thought, dump it in the trash bin of our brain. If only we would think of reconsidering it once, then the random ideas/dreams won’t appear unachievable or mere stupidity to us.

Okay, that is story of one section of people. Then again there is another group of people, who for the initial time frame takes the spectacular ideas popping in their minds seriously, but they also have the habit of procrastination. And since procrastination comes easily to them, the validity of the ideas expire eventually (they forget what the idea/dream was).

For achieving success merely being a dreamer or being an idea generating machine is not enough. Neither should you have the habit of procrastination. You must have the guts to dream and even more guts to work towards accomplishing that dream.

So, it’s time you ask yourself who you are actually and what do you want to be? Keep a track of your ideas in a journal or a diary, so that you won’t end up forgetting everything. It always helps to share your dreams with somebody whom you can trust and confide your feelings with him/her. It’s easy to procrastinate if you keep your dreams restricted within you. When you share it with somebody, he/ she keeps you reminding towards working for accomplishing your dreams and also provides the much-needed motivation. Hope you people have a great time dreaming and even a wonderful time making your dreams come true.

Hope you liked this post and I would be glad if my little article has actually pushed you to take a higher leap towards fulfilling your dreams. Do not forget to give your feedback. Your feedback’s are much valued.

Why dieting is a fad and is on the verge of Extinction?

Why dieting is a fad and is on the verge of Extinction?

Featured image

‘Hey, I can’t have those carbohydrates, I’m on a diet’

‘I’ll be only drinking 12 glasses of juice a day and fruits’

‘I’m on a diet of boiled veggies only’

‘Rice, are you kidding, how can I eat rice?’

So I started my article with these crazy lines and you might be thinking, whether I’m out of my mind or what? But, no I’m talking some serious business here.

Okay, answer one of my questions. Did you ever came across someone who has spoken these lines mentioned above or even something similar to it or did you ever speak these lines yourself or even worse, actually practiced it??  In all probability, I bet your answer would be YES. Even if you don’t practice it, you might have seen somebody say it or do it.

You know what; we people are so obsessed with dieting, that we don’t even care to understand the hidden hazards of dieting. Dieting has become more of a fashion. It has actually become fashionable to eat less or not to eat at all. People actually take pride that they are capable in starving their body. But, tell me, does it make any sense to deprive your body from receiving the required nutrition? No, absolutely not.

Nowadays, we live in concrete jungles with little or no greeneries around us, breathe the chemical mixed oxygen (thanks to the increasing number of vehicles, factories, industries), eat processed food or frozen food and most of the time we don’t even cook our own food, we rather order it. In a nutshell, we are already deprived of good nutrition and on top of that we diet.

Now if we starve our body, just think what will happen? We’ll become weak, our resistance power will decrease and our immune system will start failing. In such a situation we’ll often complain of headaches, fatigue, constipation, gas etc. But, even after suffering all of these, being the proud person we are, will never bow in front of our body. We will keep on popping pills but refuse to have a proper plate of healthy nutrition rich food. The reason being, ‘ I’m watching my weight; don’t want to put on more fat.’

Why are you busy blaming your food for your fat or rather flab, blame it on your sedentary lifestyle, your lack of physical activity and exercise. If you exercise or get involved in more physical activity, then only your body will be in a state to utilize the nutrients received from your food in a better manner. If you don’t exercise or lead a sedentary lifestyle, it will take no time for your body to convert your food to fat. Remember one thing the reason you are not losing your weight is not because you can’t give up on your favorite dish, it’s because you don’t lead an active lifestyle.

So, today take a pledge to lead a healthier lifestyle. Switch over to healthy eating and smart exercising. Health and beauty starts from within you, feed your body with good food and accompany it for some exercise.

THE PLUM TREE

THE PLUM TREE

Originally written for my Diary

The Plum Tree

Standing in the middle of our backyard kitchen garden, is the plum tree. I don’t exactly remember who planted it; most obviously it must have been my father. He is the one, in our entire family who’s totally into planting trees, vegetables, flowers, you just name it. I am totally sure, most of the vegetables and fruits which are available locally, finds its way into our kitchen garden. But today, I am not going to talk here about my father and his hobbies. I am here to talk about our PLUM TREE.

The reason why I am going to talk about our plum tree is because; it actually inspired me to write something. See, I am a big advocate of living in complete harmony with nature. You know we can learn a lot of valuable lessons from the nature around us. It is a constant source of inspiration to us. If we remain out there, in complete touch with nature, it will definitely help us to stay motivated, to progress ahead, heal our despairs and above all to be true to ourselves, by being in complete peace with our own selves.

It is the month of February, our plum tree has started blossoming, new leaves has also started coming up. I felt as if the plum tree must be very happy. After facing the spine chilling cold winters triumphantly, it seems, as if it emerged as a winner. When the entire world took comfort within the warmth of their cosy blanket, the plum tree was out there, completely bare, exposed to the cold chilly weather.

Just imagine the courage of the plum tree. When the trees nearby it retained their crowned glory (leaves), the plum-tree had none. Still it didn’t deter the plum tree to  stand still, it didn’t give up to the harsh winter, to take a toll on itself, it didn’t fall prey to the humiliation it has to suffer after losing all the leaves and standing bare.

Most of all it didn’t lose hope. It remembered the pleasant memories of its white blossoms, the cherry red fruit, and the beautiful green leaf. It gave the plum tree the hope to stay put and to not give up. And what do you think happened next? The spring time arrived soon and now it’s time for the plum tree to rejoice as it started blossoming. Oh! What a beautiful sight it is. I could stand there all day long and keep on gazing at the beauty of the plum tree.

You know there is something which we can learn from nature. Nature in itself is the greatest of teachers. Now, you must be really anxious about what lesson did I learn from the plum tree? The lesson that I learned from the plum tree is simple. In one word if I have to describe it, it would be RESILIENCE.

We all must have this quality within us. Specially, in today’s world of man eat man situation. If we stop being resilient, it is very easy to lose sight of our goals or to easily get deviated from our goals. Like every day is not Sunday, in the same manner we may not always enjoy a smooth ride in our day to day situations, there is ought to be highs and lows.

In our highs we would be all fine and happy. But it is our lows that can break us, if we let it break us. The wiser section will not let their lows break them by being resilient. So, be resilient. And do let me know, whether you liked this article or not. I’ll be waiting for your feedback.

WHAT’S IN A NAME??

Okay, so, today I have officially changed the name of my blog. The new name is………..some dramatical suspense before the climax……..tadaaaaa….its D diva (it will be pronounced as The Diva). The old name was Northeastdiva. It’s not like, I dint like the old name. I liked it very much; so much that I didn’t want to drop it.

But, then a problem popped up and I thought, that it’s better that I rename my blog. You see, I’m from the north-eastern part of the Indian subcontinent, so I named my blog as Northeastdiva, but then again, there is already a popular beauty contest, that is held in this part of the country, called as North East Diva, from where the top contenders get a direct entry to the prestigious Miss India contest. So, I changed the name because, I didn’t want my barely a week old blog, that I love so dearly, to face the situation of identity crisis. You know what; I was so obsessed with my blog that I forgot all about the similarities. Better late than never, I guess.

So, now coming to my new blog name, D diva, I finally arrived to this name after going through a brainstorming session of finding a new blog name. One after the other name and finally, D diva, could not reject it. I personally believe that every woman is a diva in her own right, I mean apart from the silver screen actresses or the supermodels. I’m talking here about the real women. Being a diva is not just about wearing the perfect dress or applying the perfect make-up and cat walking in your high heels. Being a diva is more of an inner thing, it’s who you are. It’s what make you the woman who you are. Maybe it’s your grace, poise, compassion, your struggles, accomplishments, your laughter, your opinions, basically everything that makes you YOU. It’s that beauty that radiates from within you and makes you shine in the crowd.

I also added a tagline to my blog, it’s D diva – unleash the inner diva in you. So, here I once again welcome you all to the world of D diva. Hope you love the world of D diva as much as I loved in creating it.

                                                                                                                                                love

                                                                                                                                                Daisy

Forever Indebted To My Mother

A mother is known by so many different names. Mother, mom, mommy, ma, momsie, mamma to list a few. One person, so many names to call by, I wonder if any other person in our life would have so many different names. I think no. Well, today is Mother’s Day and I decided to pen down my feelings on this very special day. This is a very humble effort from my side.

I’m lost in the middle of nowhere

Couldn’t find a soul with me here.

I clenched my fist tight

Couldn’t bear the silence of the scary night.

I shouted out loud, but

Who could have heard me? I doubt.

I lost all my hope and gave up

‘This is it’, I said, ‘Everything’s gone, I’m over.’

Then, my vision reached to the far horizon

My eyes kept searching for someone, so long.

I saw a shadow approaching near me

It seems like she was talking to me.

‘Come along, come along my child’, she said ‘You are not lost; you have me’,

‘Hold my hand, and don’t be afraid’, she said.

I realized, it was no one else but my mom

I caught hold of her hands

And up, she lifted me from the ground

Took me to her arms

And we flew far into the horizon.
